Meet Our Chef Owner:

Jacob Lewis


Hello everyone! My name is Jacob Lewis and I'm the Chef owner of LPM Kitchen. My culinary adventure started when I was a kid, crawling under tables at the country club where my grandfather, Lewis Paul Matyok, was the chef.


I accepted my first restaurant job at the age of fourteen, washing dishes at Sandusky Bay Pancake House. When I was sixteen, I really fell in love with cooking at J-Bistro in Sandusky, Ohio where I'm from. After, I went on to culinary school at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York.


Upon finishing culinary school, I moved to Cleveland, Ohio, to work at Jonathon Sawyer's wood fire tasting menu restaurant Trentina. I moved on to be the Sous Chef at Sawyer's flagship restaurant, The Greenhouse Tavern. Before leaving Cleveland, I was part of the opening team at The Marble Room, where I was a Sous Chef. I left Cleveland to work for Chef Ryan Poli at the famed tasting menu chefs' counter, The Catbird Seat, in Nashville, Tennessee, before I headed to Chicago.


I moved to Chicago to work for Chef Sarah Grueneberg at Monteverde, where I continued my loving relationship with Italian food. For the last two years I was the Sous Chef at Chef Andrew Zimmerman's Michelin Starred Sepia.
